Bermuda is known for its lovely pink beaches and coves where you can swim, snorkel or lounge to your heart's content. But there are lot more to the island than just the beaches - great museums that preserve the exhibits & artefacts depicting more than four century old history of Bermuda, caves with awesome limestone formations, historical forts dating from 1600s, churches with majestic architectures, parks & nature reserves that are ideal for watching island's flora, fauna and birds, and much more.
Golf is a very important part of the islands infrastructure and has played a part in island life/ tourism since the early 1900s. Fortunate to have 6 golf courses of differing attributes over the 21 square miles. The golf courses form an interesting heritage from the 1922 Mid Ocean Club designed by CB Mac Donald on the East end of the Island to the Robert Trent Jones Senior Golf Course Port Royal in the west, both of these courses have the honour of being past hosts to The PGA Grand Slam of golf from 2007-2014. The courses whilst stunningly beautiful both in scenery and condition year round, do also present a great challenge to the best players in the World. The other courses of Tuckers Point, Belmont Hills, Ocean View and the par 3 course at Turtle Hill, compliment the two flagship courses by offering great year round playability and the opportunity for the golfer to enjoy the challenge in all areas of the game, couple this with the islands hospitality, hotels and great restaurants and you can understand why golf is so important to Bermuda as a destination.
