Quintessence Show in Hanoi with dinner

By the end of afternoon, you will meet your driver and travel to the west of Hanoi to have the chance to experience the first Wow Show of Vietnam.

Located about 25 kilometers (1 hour) west of central Hanoi, The Quintessence of Tonkin occupies a space close to Chua Thay, a special National Cultural Heritage site and one of the oldest Buddhist pagodas in Vietnam. The spectacle draws inspiration from the pagoda’s spiritual history, with the help of a world-class sound and lighting system, but the sounds of the spectacle keeps reflecting the peaceful sounds of rural Vietnam, including wooden drums and brass gongs, night crickets, and flowing water. The spectacle also blends different elements of traditional music styles, including Quan Ho and Ca Tru, both of which are now recognized by UNESCO as an intangible World Heritage.

After the show, you will meet your driver and travel back to Hanoi around 21:45.

Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Temple of Literature

In the morning, you will pay a visit to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and see his traditional stilt house - now the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the revered One-Pillar Pagoda. After that, you will explore the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature, also known as the first university of Vietnam. Built in 1070 by emperor Ly Thanh Tong and opened from 1076 as a university exclusively for the princes, children of the nobility and the mandarins. In 1802, Emperor Gia Long transferred the National University to Hue, which had by then become the capital city of Vietnam. You will have time to stroll through the shaded paths of Van Mieu Park to appreciate the architecture of this historical site as well as admire 82 of the 116 original steles which were used to engrave the names of the graduates.

Notes:

- The Mausoleum is closed on Monday and Friday

- To be allowed to enter the mausoleum, you must cover your legs, stand in pairs in silence without crossing your arms, or putting your hands in your pockets

Hanoi classic visit

In the morning, you will begin your full day discovery of the capital with Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - a tribute to the architecture of Lenin Mausoleum in Moscow, his traditional stilt house and the One-Pillar Pagoda - built in the 11th century. Later on, you will visit the Ethnology Museum. Created in November 1997 at the Francophonie Summit, it is both a research center and a public museum featuring the 54 ethnic groups found across Vietnam.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu in Vietnamese), situated in the place once known as the first university of Vietnam. Built in 1070 by emperor Ly Thanh Tong, the university was first opened for princes and mandarins exclusively. With its ancient courtyards, altars and roofs, Van Mieu is a very fine example of Vietnamese architecture. Then, continue your way to the Old Quarter and the surroundings of the Sword Lake.

Notes:

- The Mausoleum is closed on Monday and Friday

Hanoi - Van Long - NinhBinh - Hanoi

In the morning you will travel to NinhBinh province, to arrive around noon for lunch. In the early afternoon, you will start a pleasant bike ride along the dam of Boi river. Distance and duration of the bike ride: 8 kilometers - 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Here, take your time to explore the typical villages of the Delta and meet their inhabitants. Upon arrival at Van Long Nature Reserve, you will set off on a small rowboat for 1 hour and 30 minutes passing slowly through rice fields and amidst the spectacular scenery of rocky peaks, meandering canals and luxuriant vegetation.
